Having good quality tyres on your car should be your first priority as they are, the only contact onto the surface of the road.
The legal minimum tread depth for tyres is 1.6mm throughout the central three quarters of the breath of the tread and round the entire outer circumference of the tyre. For safety reasons it is recommended that you replace your tyres before the legal limit is reached.
Most tyres have tread wear indicators; usually four small ribs across the bottom of the main tread grooves. When the tyre tread surface is close to these ribs then that means that the tyre is virtually on the legal limit and could be aquaplaning in the wet, which is very dangerous.
CHECK YOUR PRESSURES
The recommended pressures for your car will be shown inside your driver's manual. Check the pressure when the tyres are cold. Don't forget to check the spare tyre to ensure it is ready for emergencies or better still let us carry out these checks for you.
CHECK YOUR THREADS
Worn treads are dangerous as well as illegal. As treads are worn away, you lose grip in your vehicle.
CHECK FOR DAMAGE
